We’ve had countless conversations over the years about how to feel happier, more excited, and resilient in the face of setbacks. Out of those talks, we found a way forward. We began to encourage each other to do one small thing to feel better when we were struggling. The more we did this for one another, the more we realized that we all need encouragement to take one small, hopeful step towards our goals, desires, and dreams. We want to help you do the same.
There’s no “magic bullet” to instantly transform your life. We’ve learned this through trial and error. What did we find instead? A way to discover the sorts of small actions and small steps that will help people feel better in a wide range of circumstances. They are the kind of steps that anyone—yes, anyone—can take. The benefit comes from remembering that taking action will help you and developing the confidence that you know what step you want to take in that moment. It all starts with the determination to take that first step. And we’re here to help you find the steps that work best for you.
Changing your life can be simple. We’ve discovered that small, simple solutions often bring the fastest results. Even a small win is enough to keep you moving forward. And forward is where the magic happens.
We’ve learned that small steps can shift your negative feelings—stress, resentment, regret—and replace them with a sense of relief. That one step forward can change everything.

The biggest challenge for me is to remember there’s a way out when I feel terrible. Being an adult is difficult. There are bills to pay and people to take care of and dreams to pursue. Some days all the demands can seem overwhelming. On those days, I often forget all the wisdom I’ve learned from experience and teachers and friends.
Together, Michael and I discovered authors, professors, spiritual leaders who developed entire systems to organize your life and shape your beliefs. Many of them map out complex ideas to find professional success, to set and achieve goals, to learn how to live an entire life.
What we realized is that there’s room for a very simple habit to snap yourself out of it when the world comes crashing in on you. That awareness, that reaction, can give you a glimmer of hope, a glimpse of how to get through the day.

Hi and thanks for visiting us.
I’ve been a senior project manager for 24+ years, managing teams of 200 to 300 multidisciplinary professionals and 7- to 9-figure budgets. I have a B.S. in Horticulture. I play guitar and love to take photographs. I enjoy cooking and travel.
All this means nothing except that I’m an expert in myself. Just like you are an expert in yourself.
I’m not a mental health professional. I’m not a social media influencer. I’m not a movie star or famous musician. I’m just an ordinary person like you. Ordinary doesn’t mean blah. It just means I’m a human being trying to find a path through this crazy thing we call life.
We all have our paths and they’re all valid. Sometimes we get off our path. Sometimes we trip over obstacles on that path. Other times we just get distracted. It’s all normal. It’s all good.
I test things out. I see what works, what doesn’t, and I adjust. Sometimes I get stuck. But when that happens, I reach into the bag of tools Nat and I are sharing here, and I get moving again.
Movement is key—it’s made me happier, and it can do the same for you.
